Abominable Spell
A downloadable game for Windows
Strange and evil things are happening because of a spell; the Guardian must solve the problem.
A First-Person Dark Fantasy Adventure with a few puzzles.
Made for Phantasia Jam 2023.
CONTENTS (the following list is indicative and not exhaustive):
lights in dark environments, first person perspective and rapid camera movements, repeating patterns, sprites in 3D environment, high contrast colors, mild gore, blood, fantasy violence, disturbing imagery, themes that may not be suitable for all ages or for easily impressionable people, death, altered state of consciousness...
TEST:
I tested the game with Windows 10 64 bit, DirectX 12, 8 GB RAM, SSD, Intel Core i7-8550U, 1920 x 1080 screen resolution:
with UHD Graphics 620, with LOW QUALITY, average FPS was around 100;
with mx150-0 (very similar to GT 1030), HIGH QUALITY, about 140 average FPS.
In some parts FPS dropped quite a bit (this applies to both GPUs), for example with the UHD 620 (LOW QUALITY), in some scenes it ran at 70-80 FPS.
With these configurations I had no problems, it practically always remained above 60 FPS.
I have not added resolution options in the game, the game adjusts its resolution depending on the screen resolution (I only tested with a Full HD display); I reduced the resolution of the screen and the FPS increased a lot, but, I advise against playing with aspect ratios that are different from 16:9, with different aspect ratio the game don't appear as it should. The UI should be OK for a good range of aspect ratios.
With a resolution of 800 x 600, it's not the best, but it didn't bother me much; however, I recommend higher resolutions (and 16:9 aspect ratio).
I took off the V-sync just to test it.
You can change the quality in the option menu; you can find the option menu in the main menu and pause menu.
CONTROLS:
WASD, Left Shift (run), Space Bar (jump), Left Mouse Button (interact), Right Mouse Button (rotate picked up object), R (run/walk switch), Esc (pause).

I really enjoy the 2.5D artstyle, especially when we reach the twisted reality - eldritch horror designs. The puzzles was fun and clear on how to solve.
I had a lot of fun playing through your game, you did a really great job!
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it. :)
I got lost in the dark I have to restart but it's ok it's my fault so here we go again
Inserting that part was a risky choice. I recommend saving your game before that part. I'm sorry you had to start over. Below I explain how to overcome it:

the dark part is a corridor, if you go in the right direction for a while a dialogue will come out and then the music will drop and you will just have to wait, 10 seconds with the black screen and no sound.
I just used the little mirror's collisions to know where the walls were XD
Fantastic! XD... Good idea.
interessante la storia.bravo
Grazie! Ti mancava solo un altro puzzle, se ti piacciono le griglie logiche dovresti provarlo.
sono rimasta confusa nel parte finale ..non capito se era backrooms quella stanza nera di programmazione .lol
